INTRODUCTION
The SEA Write Award is bestowed on leading writers and poets from ASEAN countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
In recognition of the literary tradition, the SEA Write Award was created in early 1979 to encourage writers in ASEAN countries to write as well as in recognition of their talent and creativity.

The selection process is unique in that the nominees are selected by a committee in their respective countries.
In general, the deadline for entries is the end of April each year and the winner will be announced in August of the same year. Those eligible to participate in the nomination include organisations, institutions involved in literary work, publishers, literary experts, writers, critics and readers of literary works. |
