Malay Language Computing
|
Malay Language Computing is a research programme conducted by the Language Research Division of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka in the framework of building and developing Malay as a competent global language.
The programme relies on three main components, namely:

Computer as a tool for language research; |
| b. |
Language as an object of study; and |
| c. |
Techniques associated with language processing, particularly in the research methodology of corpus linguistics and linguistic computing.

In short, this programme is also known as KOMBAT (computer, language, technique).
This programme aims to:

Provide research infrastructure such as digital text corpus, language processing software and language reference material (such as language guidelines and rules) in e-text form.. |
| b. |
Conduct language research studies and processing based on a corpus of collected data. The results will be disseminated in the form of project reports, articles or working papers. |
This programme comprises three major projects, namely:
1. Corpus database
2. Lexicography database
3. General database
